Join us this weekend: Double the Fun Community Trash Cleanup

Join the hustle and bustle of this weekend with 2 Venice Community Cleanup efforts.

  1. Join Chris, founder of Venice Community Cleanups, this Saturday for our regular bi-weekly cleanup. We will take a touristic stroll down the beautiful Venice Canals, which we are confident it will be a pretty breezy spring cleanup, water-way to go!

Date: Saturday April 17th
Time: 09:00am- 11:00am
Meet:  IT’S SUGAR, 2017 Ocean Front Walk
Location: Venice Canals
RSVP: cwlee.nyc@gmail.com

  2. Join Volunteer Kerry for this month’s Tidy with the Tide. With each tide comes waves of trash, so       we will stroll along Venice beach shoreline collecting as much trash as we can before the tide washes it back out. Maybe even a toe dip if it is not too cold.

Date: Sunday April 18th
Time: 09:30am- 11.30am
Meet: IT’S SUGAR, 2017 Ocean Front Walk
Location: Walk along the shore line north towards Santa Monica Pier
RSVP: Kerrytowery@gmail.com

Results: Easter Weekend Trash Hunt

We were busy bees over the Easter Weekend. Thanks to our 6 volunteers we managed to collect 8×22 gallon bags of trash. We moved south down the beach as far as the end of the parking lot and back up the sidewalk. So much trash for such a small area of Venice.

Double up for March 20

There are TWO chances to contribute to Venice Beach’s cleanliness this Saturday, March 20th. The first is our regular biweekly community lead cleanup. As usual, we will meet in front of IT’SUGAR at 9am, ready to go!

To RSVP for the first cleanup, please email Christopher Lee at cwlee.nyc@gmail.com.

The second cleanup this Saturday will be lead by the Butler Initiative. They will be meeting at 10:30am at the Public Art Area at Windward Plaza, near the Graffiti Walls.

With double the opportunity to make a difference this weekend, we’re looking forward to seeing you out in the sand with us!

Thank you to all that came out this past weekend!

A MASSIVE thank you to the Venice Chamber of Commerce and for the 18 volunteers that showed up this past Saturday, March 13th. Your efforts collected 25 bags of trash, 1 broken Bird scooter, and 1 bucket of bio-waste (yuck!).

We also want to thank the volunteers that responded to our emergency request for cleanups on Saturday and Sunday! Due to the recent rain, the beaches were littered with litter. Your efforts helped make a difference for the people and the wildlife that share the beach!
